I paid but never received my activation email.
Check your Spam or Promotions tab as sometimes our emails go there. Mark us as "not spam" so we can communicate with you in the future about your projects.
Do I need to be a good writer to use this app?
Not at all. The RBJ App was designed for people who have never written a memoir before. You can speak your story using talk-to-text, type it out, or record audio - whatever feels most natural. When you're done with a chapter, use the optional "Check My Story" grammar tool to catch any typos. Your story stays in your own words, always.
Will AI rewrite my story in its own words?
Never. This is one of the most important things that sets RBJ apart. We do not use AI to rewrite, rephrase, or "improve" your stories. Your words are your words - period. The only tool we offer is an optional grammar checker that catches obvious typos and spelling errors. It corrects mistakes; it does not change your voice, your tone, or the way you tell your story. What you write is exactly what gets printed.
Do I have to record a video for every chapter?
No. You record one personal video message for the entire book. That video is linked to a QR code printed on the first page of your physical book - so your family can scan it and see you speak, forever. Each chapter itself is a beautifully written (or narrated) story with your photos. We believe one heartfelt video introduction is more meaningful than being on camera 25 times - and far less intimidating.
What if I lose my work or my phone breaks?
Your stories are protected by our Bank-Grade Memory Security system. Every word you write is auto-saved every 45 seconds, and every recording is saved immediately upon completion. All of your content is simultaneously backed up in two separate secure locations - so even if your phone is lost, broken, or replaced, your stories are completely safe and accessible when you log back in.
What happens after I pay the app fee?
After your one-time payment, you'll receive an email to verify and create your account. Click the link to download the RBJ App from the Apple or Google Play Store, and log in. Your lifetime access is unlocked immediately and you can start recording your first memory within minutes.
Is it really a one-time payment? No subscriptions?
Yes - absolutely. You pay once and you have lifetime access to the app, all 300+ questions, and all core features. No monthly fees, no annual renewals, no hidden charges. When you are ready to order a physical book, audiobook, or the Memoir Package, those are priced separately at that time.
Can I create a memoir as a gift for someone else?
Yes! Many of our users purchase the app as a gift for a parent or loved one. You can set up the app on their device, guide them through the questions, or even record answers together. It makes an incredibly meaningful and lasting gift.
What is the Memoir Package?
The Memoir Package is our premium offering for those who want to go beyond a personal keepsake and become a published author. For $499, we guide you through every step of self-publishing on Amazon KDP and Lulu - including ISBN registration, keyword optimization, cover design refinement, and launch strategies. You keep 100% of your royalties. We save you thousands compared to traditional publishing services.
What is the QR code video feature?
You record a short personal video message inside the app. For physical books, a QR code linked to your video is printed on a dedicated page before Chapter 1 - anyone who opens your book can scan it and watch you speak, forever. For audiobooks, your personal video link is delivered digitally alongside the recorded mp3 audio files. Either way, your voice and your face are preserved for the people who matter most.
How long does the process take?
Once you submit your project, it is uploaded and delivered to our team for processing. After delivery, you will receive a design confirmation for your review. Once approved, your project will be completed within 2-4 weeks, depending on the package selected.
